Safe food.
Value for the future.
Out where the sea opens up, on Lepsøy in Os, lies INKA AS – a family-owned seafood company with deep roots and its eyes on the future. With pride, precision and care we process Norwegian salmon and trout for the global market.
But to us it is not only about fish. It is about people, values – and a living local community.

Certifications and partners
Quality and food safety are essential to us at Inka. Our quality assurance systems meet every Norwegian certification requirement.
Inka is certified to BRC, the leading British safety and quality standard, and also holds Global G.A.P, ASC, DEBIO and Kosher approvals. Inka is registered with the US Food and Drug Administration as well. You can therefore trust that the products we make hold a high standard.
We are committed to innovation and efficiency, and together with the authorities and our customers we work continuously on improvements, quality assurance and new products. We run a state-of-the-art machinery park with experienced staff and efficient production solutions – and today we make more than 40 different products for export worldwide.
Our largest customer
Our largest customer is Seaborn AS. The partnership was established back in 2006 and has grown steadily ever since. Seaborn, headquartered in Bergen, is a sales company owned by several fish farmers along the Norwegian coast – giving customers a unique opportunity to follow the fish from production to market.
See all partnersFrom the sea to the world
INKA was founded by Karsten Austevoll in the autumn of 2002 – but the story begins long before that. The Austevoll family has lived off the sea for generations, and Karsten was out on the water from the age of 13.
In 1983 Karsten and his brother Øystein began planning the salmon and trout processing plant Gje-Vi AS. They opened in Gjelevika in the winter of 1984 and built close ties with local suppliers and exporters. Karsten became sole owner in 1998.
In the autumn of 2002 he started Inka AS to process Atlantic salmon and rainbow trout. The quality work from Gjelevika did not go unnoticed, and in 2006 the partnership with Seaborn began. It has grown steadily since.
We build for the next generation
At INKA we do not build for the next quarter, but for the next generation. As a family-owned company we invest in what lasts.
Here you know both the people and the values – and you know the work you do matters.
Part of the community — not merely located in it
INKA is a cornerstone employer in Os, and that carries obligations. We are located in beautiful surroundings and want to stay in step with them. We keep a close dialogue with our neighbours and work to avoid pollution, emissions and noise. We give back to the community with pleasure and pride.
